This course provides an introductory overview of the clinical considerations, contraindications, and recommendations for individual providers whose patients may benefit from couple or family therapy.

Theresa Schmitz, Ph.D.

Director of Couple and Family Therapy

Dr. Theresa Schmitz is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and currently serves as the Director of Couple and Family Services at the Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia. She has over a decade of leadership in mental health, with a career focus on evidence-based interventions and program development in the areas of family services, trauma, and resilience. Dr. Schmitz engages in numerous professional activities aligned with her professional passions, including co-leading a national mentorship group for psychologists leaders, co-Chairing APA’s Committee on Children, Youth, and Families, and providing consultation.
