About This Course

Inference-based cognitive behavioral therapy (I-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for OCD in adults (Aardema et al., 2022), which presents a cognitive-based treatment alternative to Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). We will discuss the role of inferential confusion in OCD (Baraby, Bourguignon, Aardema, 2022; Yang, Jaeger, & Moulding, 2025) and how I-CBT specifically targets this construct using a cognitive (rather than behavioral) approach. We will cover the twelve modules of I-CBT as based on the Clinician’s Manual (O'Connor & Aardema, 2011), with deidentified case examples and role plays utilized throughout to illustrate how the techniques are implemented in sessions. Finally, we will offer participants ample time throughout the presentation as well as at the end to ask questions. Additionally, this presentation will review diagnostic criteria, phenomenology, and assessment of OCD for participants who do not have previous experience in OCD treatment.

This is a live, interactive webinar event that will take place on October 24 & 25, 2025 at 10am EST.
